Alright, so our usual wealth of knowledge is on vacation, so this weeks Rundown will be a combined effort. Usually, I read the Rundown to find out what is going on but today I am writing the news. Don’t worry Dave will be back again next week.
Speaking of next week, (see what I did there it’s called a segue) don’t forget that Sunday, May 8th is the Defrost car meet. Remember, everyone is invited!

On a more somber note, tragedy struck the Olympus Rally Race in Washington this weekend when 31 year old, Matthew Marker’s 2006 Subaru crashed. The co-driver for team SubaRoots escaped the crash with no serious injuries. The crash happened during the sixth stage when they lost control in turn and collided with a tree. This is the first fatal accident in North American Rally since 2003.

Japanese automotive aftermarket parts giant, HKS USA is closing their doors and consolidating their operations to Japan. After three decades in North America, HKS has followed suit with other Japanese parts manufacturers by leaving the U.S. market. HKS cites a slow economic recovery which in turn means people have less money to spend on their cars. Don’t worry not all hope is lost, you can still “decimate all with over night parts from Japan.”

Speaking of that, Fast 5 opened this weekend grossing $85 million dollars putting it at the top of the grid this weekend in the box office. It even set a record for an April premier weekend. You know what that means? You probably saw it. Don’t worry we did too.
