Today we talk about action sports stars getting into racing, BMW and vehicles used by the Taliban.
Let’s get started……..
So I was out-and-about Saturday afternoon when I rolled up to something I had never seen before. As I got closer I saw that it was an Infiniti with QX56 badges on it but it looked nothing like an Armada. When I got home I did some research and found out it was the new QX which is based on the Nissan Patrol/Safari. I am not too sure about the styling, just yet, but just to know that you can buy a new vehicle in North America that is mechanically the same as a Patrol is pretty cool.

Over the last few years we have seen a few guys from the action sports field get into auto racing. First there was Travis Pastrana, then Dave Mirra in Rally America . Bucky Lasek kinda tried tomake a splash at Gymkhana Grid but he has spent a couple of years in racing school. Now we have that goofy looking but ultra talented and successful Shaun White getting into racing.
BFGoodrich looks to be trying to get Shaun White out of his E-gear lambo and into something that requires a bit more skill.

I received a few emails that wanted to correct me on Tanner Foust competeing in Rallycross in North America. Both the writers told me that Tanner Foust didn’t compete in Rally America. I never said that he did. I did say that he competed in the first ever American Rally Cross Championships.
Here is proof:

Travis and Terry Hanson have won the 2011 Sno*Drift Rally, opening round of the Rally America Championship. The Hansons piloted their 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi to victory with a huge lead of 3 minutes and 53.1 seconds over Dave Mirra, who took 2nd overall in a 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STi with a time of 2 hours 31 minutes and 13.6 seconds. A triumphant Hanson made U.S. rallying history today by being the first-ever Super Production class driver to win a National Rally America event outright! Rounding out the podium was Joseph Burke, who finished only 5.2 seconds behind Mirra in a 2006 Mitsubishi Evo 9.
