When most people think of tires and professional drifting they think of Falken. However, Hankook is looking to change that. They have been in the drifting game for a while but this year they announced some big news. Hankook is looking to rival Team Falken for some podium positions, to most this would seem to be a daunting task. Although, with glance of their new roster maybe the task will seem a little less daunting. Hankook is bringing in two Formula D championship winners and a seasoned vet.
The new drivers to join the team are none other then Chris Forsberg, Rhys Millen and Ken Gushi.
Rhys Millen’s car sat in their booth for the entire show so it was pretty evident that he would be heading over to join forces with Hankook.
As you can see his credentials are listed and readily available.
The surprise was hearing that Chris Forsberg would be leaving his long time partnership with Maxxis to join team Hankook.
I spoke with Chris briefly, he mentioned that he was excited about the opportunity to work with Hankook. They are hoping to take a run at Team Falken.
I asked what would become of his current livery and he assured me that it should stay close to its current design. The only changes we can expect to see is some more black incorporated into the current design.
We will be sure to post pics once the new designs is unveiled.
