When I first saw images of this car I thought “this car looks absolutely amazing. Wouldn’t it be cool if they actually made this?”
I saw the in-game specs and was astounded at what I saw:
* Engine: F1-derived direct-injection 3-litre twin-turbo V6, 1483bhp @ 15,000RPM, 527lb ft @ 12,000RPM
* Transmission: continuously variable, rear-wheel drive
* Top Speed: 249mph
* Weight: 545kg
* Length/Width/Height: 4750/2180/980mm
* Suzuka Lap Time: 1:11.540 (compare with Vettel’s 2009 F1 lap time of 1:30.833)
* Special Features: enclosed wheels, “fan element” to increase low and medium-speed downforce (much like a vacuum cleaner)
With Gran Turismo’s release coming up, I was thinking that it was too bad that RedBull didn’t build this car. However, to my surprise I was hit with the best information possible. The headline read “Red Bull X1 Prototype Gets Real, Set to Debut in Madrid” (GTPlanet.net). I nearly died.
The above image depicts the model in which they built, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out that they won’t build a working version. For more see the latest issue of EVO Magazine.
In the Video I thought the car was real, then I made out the slightest difference between RL and GT5, my friends and family can say goodbye to me for a couple months. lol
