To Say the top 16 of the final round of DMCC was wet would be an understatement.
The huge smoke put out on Saturday was replaced with a slippery bank on Sunday. As a result of the rain he infield resembled a lake, however this did not stop anyone from driving hard. In one of the most exciting battles of the afternoon Conroy Ganson was able to move past Aaron day for his spot in the final four.
As you might have heard by now, a kid by the name of Alex Lee was on a mission in Calgary, and the rain did not slow him down. He took out the top qualifying Devin Horsely early on in the competition.
Devin’s Corolla is a great looking car, and the rain just makes it look so much better.
Matt Haase and Louren Sansregret rip through the lake that took over most of the infield. Matt was showing no problems controlling the big GTO in the rain, but Louren was able to keep the favor in his hands and moved closer towards a spot on the podium.
Two drivers that also really stuck out were Mark Tschritter and Jon Schildwachter who we’re both hunting for a second place podium. In this run Mark was the lead car, but a hard charging Jon was able to make a pass before the clipping point, however the judges did not like this.
The battle was ruled a one more time, and in exciting conclusion to the battle came when Jon’s 240 wasn’t able to keep traction. The S chassis fell victim to the slippery tarmac of race city and almost ended up going right through Mark’s door. Mark would eventually take the third spot on the podium, along with a pretty impressive door dent.
In the only final four battle of the day, the action was aplenty. Both Conroy and Louren we’re driving 110% in this battle, sadly Conroys weekend would end a little earlier when his RX7 was faced with a very serious mechanical set back that would have the track staff cleaning the track for almost twenty minutes.
But it’s all right, while missing an eye, the shades we’re still good to go.
The final battle of 2010, was maybe the longest battle of 2010. Both Alex Lee and Louren Sansregret we’re matching each other point for point. Alex Lee would be the one standing at the end of it all, and would also take home the 2010 DMCC title.

awesome shots tony!
yeah man!
Very cool shots!! I’m happy I checked in here, otherwise I would’ve had no idea what happened out there! I remember Alex Lee was killin’ it when we went out west a couple years back, I can’t say I’m surprised to see that he’s kickin’ ass out there now. Good stuff!
Thanks everyone :). And Dan, lets hope we can bring the west show east next time!
