I found it hard to learn night shots too, hardest for me to get a hold of is rolling night shots. For still shots though I set my camera on an object (a tripod works well too) A few weeks ago it was a plastic bucket. Most of the time it’s railings and if I have none of the above I sit on the ground and use my knees.
night shots are hard to pull off, a good tripod is pretty much a must with the wind and what not.
