As summer has come around many of us have been doing nothing but pouring money into our cars. Adam is no exception. Some of our loyal readers may have seen a quick sneak peak of his WRX earlier last year on DODOlogic. Now some people think his car is an STi… actually it’s not. While at SEMA last year we had some fun and had Ken Block call Adam and tell him “you should have bought an STi” but Adam took it in stride and proved him wrong. In my opinion Adam has done such a great job making it “unique” it doesn’t matter that it’s not an STi. Now if your wondering if there is a video to back that call up, your in luck because there is, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uchfdxCE3QM
When you think Subaru you may think of rally and WRC and now even Ken Block. Adam, at first, did center his build around the infamous Ken Block and his 2009 WRX STi. From the Volk Te37 rims to at one point even putting a giant Monster decal on the hood. Since Ken Block has gone to Ford Adam has taken a new approach, stance. With BC Racing Coilovers and suspension upgrades the car looks a lot more aggressive (a little sunken, but not for long).
The stock performance of a Subaru WRX is less than mediocre, I can assure you this is no 224hp grocery getter anymore…With upgrades done over the past two years Adam has been able to raise the level of performance to the next level for his ej255. Upgrades like a IHI VF52 turbo, Walboro fuel pump, Perrin turbo inlet hose, COBB Access Port, XPT custom stage 3 tune, Perrin Front Mount Intercooler, AEM Cold Air Intake, Invidia Cat-less Downpipe and a Tsudo N1 cat-back exhaust allow this beast to run almost 21lbs psi at peak and push 320-ish hp to the wheels. Huge Thank-you to Josh @ www.importimageracing.com for all of his help!
The “S204” Badge is something Adam got which represents a special edition STi only made available in Japan. As his Subaru is definitely “special” Adam has once again giving himself a bit of an edge over some local Subaru’s in our lovely city.
The WRX has a basically stock interior which is nice, clean and simple. Aside from a simple SPT Boost gauge, a limited COBB shift knobb and a AEM wideband (on the way) the interior sure doesn’t scream power and performance as of yet…
Future plans for the WRX is to one day get a pair of solid back seats and some takata harnesses to match. Performance wise the car is basically where he wants it to be. Some more visual parts, possibly more carbon fiber to match the Seibon hood.
Be sure to give him a wave and or a thumbs up if you see this Subaru cruising the streets of Regina this summer!
Sick car. Love the stance.
good job. this car has come long ways….
Thanks Luis, I should have posted some pics of it when I first go the car…The WRX has definitely gone through a huge transformation process. I’m really happy with where it is at right now. Perhaps some bigger and wider wheels next year too 🙂
