After a long, exhausting weekend, I was excited to relax. But I quickly realized these photos weren’t going to take care of themselves, so I got after them like it was my job.
Compared to the snow we’ve received today, we were very lucky this past weekend as the weather couldn’t have been better.
If you look past this piece of American muscle, you can see the giant piles of snow that have yet to melt. Winter is usually over by the time we hold Defrost, but this year the event’s name was well-deserved.
The Regional Subaru Owners Club (RSOC) showed up in big numbers this year. It was safe to say they were the largest club in attendance, and on top of that, they were organized. Any AWD fan would have been appeased by the rows upon rows of Subaru’s. Most were shiny, but this sedan took a different approach.
For the first time ever we had food at the event. And it wasn’t just any food — one of Regina’s favorite food trucks was able to attend. If anybody knows me personally, they know I love good food. That being said, Bon Burger fits snugly into the cockles of my heart.
Apparently I wasn’t the only one who enjoys gourmet hamburgers. It was Bon Burger’s first event of the year, and I suspect people went through withdrawal in its absence, much like I did. We waited in anxious anticipation for our food.
After I got my food I snuck away to the DODO merch booth, where our good friend Gideon was making the music happen. I quickly demolished the delicious Bombre Burger, poutine and a Jarrito.
Once my face was filled I returned to shooting as many cars as I possibly could. Janson from Taylor Scion clearly knows what’s up. He always brings out a FRS, and this time it was equipped with the TRD exhaust.
After lurking around the lot, I came across this Type R. I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this Championship White paint against the snowy background.
The R33 never really caught on here, which is a shame. At least that is what I was thinking as this rolled by on the MB Battles.
As you probably noticed, the title of this post contains “Part 1.” This means there’ll be more coverage to come — and maybe even a video. So keep checking back.
