Tonight during our stay in Vegas for DODOlogic’s annual trip to SEMA we had the opportunity to watch the qualifying runs for GRC. It was my first time being in the presence of all out rally cars, walking through the teams tents the smell of race gas was lurking in the air. Unfortunately we missed the media meeting in the morning so we couldn’t get the best spots to shoot from, although, these pictures should suffice. Tomorrow we will be there to get the oh so important media vests to gain access to the good shooting locations!
Watching cars flying through the air was definitely another first for me, along with many other things on this trip. For example; buying booze in Walmart and drinking in malls, I am definitely coming back to Vegas next year and can’t help but think why this is my first year.
Seeing people I have only seen on TV and the internet in real life was pretty cool to me, walking by Pastrana in an arm sling, towering over Tanner Foust as he walked past me and listening to Ken Block being interviewed by a very cute ESPN girl was surreal.
In true KB fashion here’s a pic of him spitting flames while taking the lead during the first race.
I really liked this shot of Tanner Foust clearing another one of the rally cars on the track.
He took the lead pretty early during the 2nd race, he made it look easy.
Deegan’s car looked mean out there, after jumping the gun on the launch he still ended up first in the race.
Tomorrow is when the racing gets real so make sure you keep your eyes posted for more coverage of the season finale in Las Vegas!
